Living Organisms Experiment
This month we will be finishing our study of Microorganisms. We have done an experiment to see if there are living things in our school that we can't see. After the experiment, we learned that yes, there are things in our school that are living that are invisible to the unaided eye.

SEP - Student Education Plan Meeting - September 28th & 29th
Please mark your calendars and plan on attending SEP's on Monday, September 28th and Tuesday, September 29th!!! Please go to the school homepage and click on the "ONLINE SCHEDULER."
1. Select "Monroe Elementary" and click "go"
2. Enter the school password: monroe
3. Enter your "Student ID". (This is the student's 9#.) If you do not know their Student ID, use the LOOKUP STUDENT ID button to access the system.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to choose a time to come to SEP's.

Lots of Learning
We are having a great time at school! In our Reading and Language Arts class we are reading The Lightning Thief. We are studying the main character, Percy Jackson, and discussing the challenges that he has faced so far and how he responds to these challenges. We are working on citing text evidence to support our comprehension of the book.
In our Science class, we are studying Microorganisms and have watched a video called The Sneeze. This was a great talking point about germs and what we are going to be studying the next few weeks. We have a lot of learning to do and look forward to our upcoming experiments.

First Week of School :)
We had a great first week of school!! We spent much of the three days getting to know each other, discussing procedures and rules, and trying to adjust to 5 different classes. Please remember to try to bring all your supplies to school by Tuesday. We will begin using the 3-subject notebooks in reading and science this week. Also, if you haven't signed up for Class Dojo, please do so and don't forget to fill out the Parent Survey. Thanks for a great week!!
